Friday, December 29, 2017 - Ending the year with one classic after another. On the repertoire today, Tignanello 2014 found itself drifting about. With certainty, I can say that this is one of my favorite wines on the planet - not because of the colossal brand it is, but because it always brings back the best memories of setting foot into this crazy wine journey. Terroir-driven like no other - you can literally see yourself standing in the middle of a Tuscan forest, smelling the wet soil, freshly dug up truffles, dried cranberry, grounded coffee. The palate strikes you as appetizing - no resistance exists in having a couple of bottles in a row. Creamy texture, giving way to tones of Belgian milk chocolate, bright cherry, a bit of spice, a bit of herbs. Finishes off strong and bold. A true beauty.
