Sunday, June 25, 2006 - Limpid in the glass, cherry red with pale rim. Not a lot of fruit on the nose but quite a pleasant compact, savoury aroma. This profile is replicated on the palate along with puckering tannins and a dry finish. Lovely medium body, silky feel and good acidity. What this wine needs most is time in the decanter, maybe even three hours plus. Then, the aromas thicken: Black tea is discernable, and tannins soften. Nice wine with food, but plan ahead! 9 Euros a bottle from Chamonix, so good value, despite double disabilty of being from a rather unfashionable corner of Burgundy and an average vintage to boot!
