Friday, January 23, 2015 - Dark ruby with solid edge. Still deep fruit with vibrant forward bouquet. Lovely syrah with very good balance and length. Minimal barnyard; fruit dominates. Doesn't drink like it's 20 years old.

Opened to sample and resealed 2 hours ahead. Paired with 1993 Chave Hermitage; surprisingly, the Hermitage was the 'winner' (the 1993 was a miserable vintage) - but a matter of taste.
