90 Points

Thursday, January 7, 2021 - Popped, ran through the Venturi, and poured right out of 56 degree cellar. Probably a mistake as this improved considerably over 90 minutes as it aired out and rose to room temperature. Translucent garnet. Nose initially reticent, with fruit lacking on attack and midpalate, and off-putting finish with strong anise and licorice notes. Over time, everything improved and settled down with sweet red fruits, touch of sour cherry on the finish, and interesting mineral flavors in the background. Suggest drinking within the next 3 years, and give it at least a 60 minute decant.
