Thursday, August 22, 2013 - Dark and brooding fruit. Tannins are still nicely wound up and this could go another decade in the cellar. Licorice, plum and figs on the nose with a hint of sandalwood and leather. On the initial taste the blackberry and fig is the initial burst of flavor but then the earthiness hits full stride. There is a chalkiness and oat flavor on the mid palate that really balances things out. Very nice. Great finish and great wine.
