Friday, May 2, 2008 - Medium ruby. Raspberry and a strong scent of ground coffee that I associate more with Burgundy than the Rhone. Later, an additive touch of green herb and very light brett. Medium to full bodied but by no means a monster. Gorgeous fruit, initial dusty tannins which rapidly dissipate, and nice, higher tone inner mouth aromatics. This is rounder, less acidic, and has more depth of fruit than the '04 we tried recently. Excellent and already very interesting. Apart from the early flash of tannin, this does not show the fearsome tannin that characterizes some '05s.
