Thursday, August 27, 2020 - Immediately more generous with incense and almonds, black currants and cherries, than the 2011 that stayed blunt, reductive and oaken all 5 days I had it open this winter. Pleasing popcorn note on the nose 2 days in, and canned pineapple (I think someone else detected this in a different vintage) and papaya lurk on the palate. Muscular af; I think I prefer more gossamer Bourgogne at this time, but I'm a bit of a noob, so what do I know? As if to confirm my ignorance, I'll confess to the heresy of occasionally 50/50ing this with small amounts of Bodegas Nekeas 2017 Chapparal; the finish goes on for minutes
Eh; 1 minute. And smells like African black soap. It's a good thing

4 days in, the last glass attained the cherished Poise. That said, I join several other trackers across multiple vintages who wish this was just a little more complex. Or acidic. Or something
