Wednesday, February 12, 2020 - This was the wine i brought and was WOT at a Blind Pinot Noir of the World tasting with 5 wines: Paul Hobbs' Napa Hyde Vineyard 2016, South African Hamilton Russell PN 2018, Gevrey Chambertin Vielles Vignes 2015 from Faiveley and finally Luca Pinot Noir 2017 from Laura Catena Mendoza. PnP at first the nose jumps out of the glass with clear sour cherry mixed with some almost Port-like feel. This fades away while the fruit dominates and the wine shows a mix of boldness and elegance with still good acidity - amazing for a 10yr old Cal Pinot. Drink up as this should go down in 1 or 2 yrs.
