Wednesday, April 17, 2024 - Soave & Brunello (Anima e Cuore): For my preference this is on the downslope- it has certainly shed some of its youthful exuberance - smoky and mineral, clarity to the pulpy peach fruit and gains a touch of richness with air. A rubbery tertiary quality - which seems to be a characteristic of La Rocca irrespective of age - comes to the fore here. It just lacks a little energy and the flamboyance that's kind of the point of this cuvee for me.
