Thursday, January 8, 2015 - Very interesting....out of the bottle it was bright, red, juicy fruit, tar, minerals....As it sat in the glass it opened up with more tertiary notes of mushrooms, earth, tar, stewed fruit and succulent red fruit along with minerals and brown spice. I agree with my husband, Chris that there is a balance of youthfulness and an old wine. A fun wine to try on Thursday night - had Korean beef tacos; which the wine actually held up to the beef, due to sweetness in the marinade. Not a perfect match ...but a fun surprise!)
