Wednesday, November 2, 2016 - Served last, as a coda to our 1985 Burgundy tasting. We were told it had been decanted for 3 hours but it was still a little tight when poured. After 5 minutes in the glass it opened up beautifully, showing a wonderful nose of ripe cherries, plumbs, and strawberries with hints of pepper, cloves, and just a faint trace of forest floor. Asked to guess the vintage most of us went for 2009 or 2010. Clearly still a baby but with a stunning life ahead. It can be drunk now but definitely not without some serious decanting time!
