Thursday, May 17, 2012 - Mature colour, some bricking at the egde. Gamey, rich nose of spice, liquorice and tobacco, remarkable for a wine of this age. Rich palete, still some residual acidity, but beginning to dry out and the finish does not have the length one would hope for in such a wine. No great hurry, but should be drunk in the next couple of years. Not as good for me as some of the tasting notes by others, but I bought this at auction in the early 1990s and maybe it had not been stored as well as it should have been.
