Sunday, April 18, 2004 - Tasted at a vertical Beaucastel tasting at the home of Amy Weinberg. Bright disc. Deep garnet robe with brick rim. Clean nose, showing very intense candied black fruit, exotic spices, herbs, meat, smoke and leather. Full-bodied on the palate, wiith low acidity, medium ripe residual tannins and similar flavors as for the nose. Long, smooth finish. This is a phenomenal Beaucastel which should drink well for at least another 8 years or so.
