Saturday, January 16, 2021 - Full dark, black cherry colour. Gobs of sweet fruit on the nose. Lush, candied raspberry, blackberry, black currant, cocoa and charred eucalyptus aromas. Very full bodied, hugely extracted and tonnes of glycerine! Sweet black and red fruits dominate the palate and that's about all you can taste. The alcohol feels high and barely concealed by the fruit. But the acidity is surprisingly on the high side as well that sort of balances it all out. Perhaps added tartaric acid? Fine tannins. Long, mouth coating, sweet finish. Not at all subtle - more of a punch you in the face wine. Adult candy wine. Not my style.
