Tuesday, May 11, 2021 - Nice story, this wine is dedicated to Lorraine Ashmead, co-founder of Elderton Wines. Big and oaky CS and Shiraz blend. Deep ruby red in the glass.

Nose is expressive right out of the bottle. Smoked meat, pepper and dark chocolate with a core of jammy black fruit.

Palate is full with firm, astringent tannins, high acidity and pronounced alcohol.

Flavours are again oak dominant with menthol, leather and chocolate taking centre stage.

Medium finish.

I think this will improve. Drink 2023-2031.
