Monday, October 9, 2017 - Still very much alive. As the other notes have mentioned, definitely heady and intense aromas of pine, road tar, black cherry, and sauerkraut. I feel it has become more harmonious over the years that I've been drinking this. Acidity is still ripping, tannins have declined, but this wine is certainly a volume knob turned to 11 in terms of its intensity. Lovely little spritz upon openingThe volatility will certainly turn a lot off, but it is a wild (albeit academic) experience if you keep an open mind to it.

If I drank this wine once a year, that would be good enough for me, but my year would certainly be much less interesting if I opted not to.
