Ultimately this is the most complex and alluring Champagne I have ever tasted. Yes the finish is amazing. Yes the mousse. Yes the brioche character permeates. I could try to add all the descriptors, but I feel it woefully inadequate. I'll just mention a few that really stick with me - overwhelming lemon oil, black tea, grains of paradise, white peaches, dried green apple, bergamot et. al.

I tried to talk myself out of applying such a high score, but in the end I think it's the right score. Possibly even a little higher.

As an additional note, I will add that there is some bottle variation out there (of course and expected with older wines). I have tasted 2 bottles (this review is for the second one). The first bottle was a bit more developed and not quite as nuanced. It was definitely still on point, but I would put it a notch or two below the second bottle I reviewed above.
