Saturday, December 24, 2022 - Opened and decanted a few hours ahead of Christmas Eve fillet. Drank out of magnum so probably more primary than 750 ml notes. Dark crimson-purple color. Nose brings eucalyptus, fresh mint, red roses, cherry blossoms, and sweet tobacco. The palate is medium-full, square, hard, and juicy, bringing a compact core of blackberries, plums, and blackcurrant. Red cherries and raspberries bring a tart freshness and drinkability. The palate finishes with dark chocolate, espresso bean, dried leather, and savory herb notes. The finish is still very tannic and gets tiring after a few glasses. Always distinctive, this is a great vintage but best years definitely still ahead. Drink 2024-2034. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 91.
