Monday, December 25, 2023 - Opened for a Christmas dinner of prime rib, potatoes, carrots, and popovers. Decanted for a little over 2 hours. Aromas of cherry, tobacco, leather, and just the right amount of earthiness. Flavors of blackberry, herbs, a little spice. Tannins are present but have tamed down, medium to long finish, with an almost plush mouthfeel. Just such a beautifully elegant wine. Still has enough structure to last for another decade at least. Regretfully, I only have 1 bottle left of this vintage.
