Friday, July 16, 2021 - Dark purple in the glass with clear ruby at the edges. Warm and generous on the nose, with aromas of black cherry & cassis, green peppercorn, anise, tobacco, coffee bean, clove and cedar. Expressive and primary flavors of fresh black fruit and ripe red currant, with round giving secondary notes of baking spices, shoebox leather and cedar. Medium-to-full body, well-framed acid giving lift, nicely polished structure with just a little flesh, and broad-grained round tannins. Full finish, with lingering fruit and savory depth. Drinking very well, late primary stage, long life ahead.
