Saturday, December 14, 2019 - Decanted at a restaurant after removing the cork (which is very long), this fragrant red is 94% Merlot, 3% Cab Franc, and 2.5% Malbec. The Pahlmeyer Merlot eschews traditional Merlot stylings, striving instead to be a full-bodied red champion. Tasting notes from the Pahlmeyer wine dinner will be added in a few days once I get back home. But suffice to say, the Pahlmeyer Merlot is a full-bodied red elixir that many wine lovers would likely mischaracterize as a Cabernet Sauvignon in a blind taste test, rather than a Merlot.
