Monday, July 6, 2020 - A bit challenging on the nose here. There is quite a bit of honey, chestnut, and quince, but also an overwhelming note of musty basement, low tide sea funk, and mushroom (not in a bretty or cork taint way). The musty basement and low tide notes carry into the palate which is also full of hints of botrytis, honey, apples, and nuts. Very interesting, but not particularly delicious or good with food. I'll let this one age a bit more before opening again (this was one of two bottles that I purchased). I still like it though.
