Sunday, May 20, 2007 - Morels and Burgundy (Chicago): Opened with a very strange stewed tomato aroma, some spice, licorice, maybe soy sauce. Light bodied with bright acidity and a kind of metallic character, which carries onto a respectable finish. The consensus was that there was something off with this bottle, perhaps heat damage. Coming back to it later showed a strong green note very typical of '04s in my experience. I don't mind it per se, but I feel it obscures the transparency.
