Sunday, April 25, 2010 - Oxymoronically, a powerfully smoky nose with notes of blackberries, though it holds a certain reticence. A little stemmy on the palate, but pleasant dark fruits that aren't too forward. Certainly not a fruit-driven wine, with balance between the acidity and the fruit. Strikingly tannic. Needs to be decanted.
