Tuesday, January 30, 2018 - Caliginous pinot, purple with brownish hues. Beautiful and symmetrical long-lasting legs. Nose has cherry, vanilla, caramel, slight strawberry, baked sugar cookie. Early on I picked up a cosmetic aroma, like lipstick...not bad, just very different.

Palate is fruit forward, new world Pinot. Blueberry dominant, pure palate, juicy berries. Good acidity, tartness, moderate tannins. 14.5% alcohol hidden extremely well. Palate lacks complexity but is very pleasing and interesting, invoking memories (of Fun Dip and Dante Cabernet?).

Paired with a shiitake beef stroganoff, and the pinot married well with the creamy texture and earthy mushroom flavors. Wine retained strength of fruit and acid.
