Saturday, June 17, 2023 - Second bottle from a full case purchased from the Dutch importer in 2016. Pristine condition, decanted for three hours. In January 2021 this was still very tight and closed, but by now the nose has opened up a bit and the palate has relaxed slightly. The style remains really cool and energetic however for such a warm vintage, and the fruit is ripe but clearly in the tarter, redder part of the spectrum with some cherry stones. Aromatic complexity on the nose is still a thing of the future, and the tannins are finely grained but very grippy, and the finish is still tight and dry. I do not detect any meaningful tertiary evolution yet - which is slightly unusual at this stage. Not sure where this is going, when will it blossom?
