Thursday, January 24, 2019 - At Bishan. Barolo night. Tasted blind.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of stony minerality, earth, dark red cherries. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours tobacco, tar, dark red cherries, black cherries, black plums, dark herbs, earth. Long finish.
Very good quality. Polished, aristocratic and open flavours ready for enjoyment. Drink up. Just seems to lack a certain sense of excitement and ?vibrancy.
Domenico Clerico first started using rotary fermenters in 1993.
From the Pajana vineyard plot within the Ginestra Cru in the commune of Monforte d'Alba.
