Friday, January 1, 2016 - The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), fig, cedar and black pepper. It tastes like black currant (cassis), mushroom, oak, tobacco and meaty. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

This was a magnificent wine, and still tasted young. The tertiary flavours you expect were there, but there was still quite a bit of that berry youthfulness to the wine. I don't think this wine has peaked quite yet.
