Wednesday, June 19, 2019 - Decanted for 2 hours (but a small sip taken at popping the cork was immediately enjoyable to my surprise). The wine was fairly mellow after the decant for my expectation of LLC and 1996. I find some 1996s Medoc almost too structured but not here. The wine was "relaxed", fully open for business - 12.5% alcohol only which I love - no heat, no shouting, just sheer class in a glass. Based on this I am going to be drinking my bottles over the next 5 years (and before my 1990s weirdly). But maybe this was just a bit more developed bottle then is usual. It sure was a clean and lovely bottle. I do like LLC for its consistency and it does punch at First Growth levels in my opinion.
