Friday, February 19, 2010 - Light golden. Indeed, this had heavily sherried tones right out of the bottle which made us think it was dead. However, it perked up admirably with air, lightening a bit and showing more pineapple fruit than the 1990, lower acidity, and much earthier finish that seemed typical for these wines. Also has a wonderful feel like its older sib. No question that this was partially oxidized and not pristine, though. My notes on this were more enthusiastic 2-3 years ago. Still, better than we expected when the wine was first poured.
