Thursday, May 28, 2020 - Pop and pour at 12 degrees C. Open nose with tart raspberry jam, champignon mushrooms (!) and a touch of vanilla. Leaning more towards strawberries on the palate - mixed in with more raspberries. Silky and quite large mouthfeel with medium acidity and relatively low tannin levels. Long, juicy, and concentrated finish with lingering liquorice.

The wine looses a bit of elegance and balance as it heats up, leaning more towards the jammy, liquorice characters, so would prefer drinking this slightly chilled at < 16 C (where it is very balanced). Very interesting Cali Pinot, showing some age and and a lot of drinkability at this stage. 92 points.
