The color was light red, with bricking and even some brown notes around the edge. The nose was muted at first, but eventually revealed lead pencil and dark fruit. The wine was actually in amazing balance for its age, but the fruit was just a touch over the hill. The finish went on and on and on.

I am sure there are better bottles out there. For me, this was an educational experience more than an outstanding and enjoyable wine.
