Sunday, October 12, 2014 - "2015" Sydney International Wine Show - stewarding notes; 10/11/2014-10/16/2014 (Blue Mountains, NSW): {screwcap, 13.5%} (option – me) Developing smoky citrus aromas. Fooled a few people into voting for (hunter) Semillon. The palate is big and a fair way from fully developed; this is still strongly acidic and quite tart, medium-bodied in weight; it’s only just beginning to blend the citric lime flavours with some toasty evolution. Big presence on the mid-palate and a long dry, crunchy finish; these point to a long life ahead still. No better in quality than the 02 Petaluma earlier tonight; although possibly a bit less developed and likely to age longer.
