92 Points

Friday, July 1, 2011 - Medium red-garnet, pale-edged. Smokey American oak leads the nose to ripe not overripe cherry, dill, mints, and leather. A little bell pepper. Low tannin and acidity. Voluptuous and fat in the mouth, there's heaps off cherry fruit and medium char oak here. Fascinating how well the wine has aged and held on; it was soft on release and I'd not imagined fifteen years much less twenty-plus lay ahead of it on first release. From magnum.
