Sunday, August 30, 2020 - Deep purple-black to edge.
Vibrant aromas of ripe juicy blackcurrants, black cherry, bilberry and black forest gateau.
A fresh entry with lively acidity, sweet black fruit and dark (80%) chocolate texture. Good depth of flavour with lots of blueberries, liqueur cherry chocolates, and spicy oak all underpinned with fine, powdery tannins. Impressive wine with creamy chocolate underlays as it opens in the glass. Plush, perhaps not that layered or complex but the wine has a long length and was utterly delicious. A slight Parkin note on the aftertaste.
