Monday, December 25, 2023 - Opened a pair for Christmas Eve dinner. Splash decant, then 3 hours slow ox.
This opens with a huge nose of blueberries and blackberries. Rich, sumptuous wine with generous fruits of cassis, plums, blackberries, layered with smoked meat, chocolate, tapenade. Terrific balance, acidity, integrated tannins and oak. Long satisfying finish.
This is entering its peak window, for me. Both bottles drank the same

Robert Parker had commented that the ‘13 would be best at 7 to 9 years of age

12/29/2023 4:04:00 AM - Thanks FB, I would expect that for the ‘13. I only have ‘14 and ‘15. I haven’t been blown away by this one but the first one may have been too soon and the second at altitude so maybe 3rd time lucky?

that is a fair point, about the vintage.
In general I think that the 15s are drinking well at this point in time
sounds like you may want to wait another 6 - 12 months
