Community Tasting Note

Saturday, February 20, 2021 - Deep ruby. The nose is initially reticent, but after being open for an hour or so, it starts to show a distinct floral note, a hint of residual stem-greenness, and black raspberry/blackberry fruit. The palate was medium-light bodied and silky textured, with refreshing and very well integrated acidity. The balance was very good for the first few hours, but after ~3-4 hours open, the fruit on the mid-palate wasn't able to stand up to the tannins any more and/or the tannins just emerged with air. There's still a sturdy frame of fine textured tannin lurking here. I would expect this to continue evolving for some time yet, as the fruit on the palate isn't really mature, but it's unclear to me whether the fruit is enough to buffer the remaining structure. Will probably give my one remaining bottle another 3-5 years to see.
