Saturday, February 8, 2020 - My last bottle of this acquired just after release and cellared at home. Decanted at 5pm and tasted 0ver the next 4-5 hours. This went very well with a fire grilled whole beef tenderloin, my patented Mashed Potatoes, Port wine sauce and sirracha soy Brussels sprouts, perhaps better than the other more pedigreed Red’s this evening. It was a medium bricked garnet with the classic Silver Oak nose of vanilla, chocolate, earthy forest floor, licorice and red and black fruit, Palate was smooth with mostly integrated tannin, moderate acidity, somewhat lean fruit, mostly plum and cassis along with some graphite and leather. Finish is chocolate and moderately long. Overall complex and layered. Quite nice but fully mature and on a gentle downslope I think.
