Sunday, February 24, 2019 - A really classy and very classic old school Rioja - by which I mean it displays the slightly oxidative style associated with old school Rioja (produced by deliberately passing the wine through the air when racking. This is an elegant style of wine (medium or medium + acidity, body and alcohol). red and sour cherries that are typical of Rioja (rather than the black fruit of Ribeira). Tertiary notes are developed for a red wine of this age: leather, damp earth, forest floor. Accompanied by a certain mellow cedar and cinnamon spiciness from the oak.
