Saturday, July 17, 2021 - This needs a brief decant. Fantastic nose from the start--dark fruit, thyme. Deep garnet and crystal clear. First taste was a bit harsh, more dominated by earthy bitterness. BUT after about an hour, it really came together. Beautiful, silky, balanced, focused: the herbal (thyme) and oaky bass notes supported a beautiful hint of violets. I forget what I paid for it, but this is a really well made, classic wine. I'm guessing you could wait, but it's certainly within its drinking window now.
