Thursday, January 2, 2014 - Clear, pale garnet colour. Clean, med+ intensity, fully developed nose. Aromas of leather, cedar, dried cherries & eastern spices. After a while the dominant leather integrates better and a bit of roasted coffee & chocolate appears. Dry, med acidity, med tannins, med alcohol, med body, med+ flavours. Flavours of dried fruit, prunes, liquorice, chocolate and eastern spices. Med+ finish. Very good. Despite its age still showing well. Spicy finish. Became a whole lot better after decanting and some time in the glass. Drink now, will not improve any more. But do decant a few hours in advance, the wine will be more balanced!
