Saturday, October 1, 2022 - Vintage after vintage, this wine (and its riserva variant) is a favorite of mine. Flavors of melted licorice, prunes, tar, and sandalwood. Thick and mouth coating, with big tannins, but not harsh in any way. Very Italian, with a classic sensation I describe as “savory acidity.” This tastes world class. And I figure it will continue to improve over the next five years.

All of this before considering the price: just $40.
