Monday, October 9, 2017 - Yearly Vogüé tasting with Jean – Luc Pépin from Comte de Vogüé and great Swedish importer “Tryffelsvinet”.
First vintage of the Musigny Blanc since 1993 that this is again being bottled since back then, when the vines where ripped up and replanted.
The nose shows lovely ripe tropical fruits, chalk and minerals, some nuts and marzipan with lemon oil and white flowers.
The palate shows soft and ripe tropical fruits, orchard and pears, sweet white stone fruits, light fat chalk.
Superb and clean, despite rather big and ripe, perhaps a bit low in acidity.
Very accessible, much more so than previous vintages tasted (when bottled as village Bourgogne blanc).
Lovely, with the ample ripeness and accessibility at this point.
I would say that this is for early consumption as per of tonight’s showing.
