Thursday, March 16, 2017 - Holy crap. This is one of the best young Auslese that I've had in some time. Still very youthful; a pale greenish yellow colour in the glass, and the aromatics are an immediate wow. There's an array of ripe fruit here, ranging from fresh limes and other tart citrus notes to more exotic passionfruit and guava flavours, and it's surrounded by layers of fresh florality and herbal/faintly minty notes, vivid slatey minerality, and bright honeyed accents. There's a faint sheen of incredibly clean botrytis here that allows the fruit and minerality to stand out, and amazing acidity on the palate that keeps this really light and focused, with a finish that goes on for minutes after each sip. Spectacular wine. I am very, very glad I have several more of these. (From 750 ml, ex-Bonelli cellar.)

3/17/2017 5:11:00 AM - I remember trying to find the 97 Ziliken wines on release - it was quite hard to find the best cuvees. I don't think I found the #6 GKA - I'd love to drink one with you sometime ...
