Sunday, August 2, 2020 - Color: medium ruby, garnet on the rim
Nose: vibrant roses and licorice, star anise. Bit of amarena sour cherry. Just a singular depth of crushed petals of dark flowers. Tree bark and wet forest floor
Palate: structure is towering here. Tannins that play games with more tannins. Acidity is medium-high. Mostly flowers, star anise and balsamic vinegar.
Finish: very long
I apologize for commiting infanticide here. This needs 10 more years, at which point I would guess a 95 or more. Even then, with vigorous 5 hours of decanting, staggering depth, structure worthy of a gothic cathedral, tannins upon tannins that build a incredible texture. Nebbiolo done with respect. Outstanding
