Saturday, June 5, 2021 - This is a big Rhone blend that needs at least 5 more years in bottle. Very primary, almost jammy, and yet astringent and hot. Deep almandine in the glass.
Bold nose with a dominant smoked paprika note, heavy oak influence in the form of leather and chocolate as well as ripe plum and blackberry.
Heavy on the palate with firm, bitter tannins, powerful acidity and spicy, burning alcohol.
Flavours are quite sweet with clove, black licorice and sweet black fruit.
Long, hot finish.
