Wednesday, August 13, 2014 - Wow, it's probably at peak right now. No obvious signs of age in its appearance, but the tarry cocoa powder notes of its youth are gone. There's still a little dusty smoke, especially on the nose, with the characteristic loamy earth that makes this obviously Chilean, but the mouth is packed with integrated red and black cherry, plum jam, and herb smoke. Tannins are pretty well resolved at this point, but there is still ample structure, and the cherry and red currant finish persists with a pleasant spiciness. Really outstanding.
