Thursday, March 14, 2024 - A very complex nose. Blueberry, blackberry, crème de cassis, iron oxide, tobacco smoke and leather. The fruit rules the palate, in very distinct layers. Notes of loam and limestone appear on the very long finish. Very polished tannins. Outstanding tension. I usually decant a mature Napa red for about an hour before drinking. Ninety minutes for this, and a little warmer than normal. Around 68-70 degrees. Nailed it.
