Sunday, September 3, 2023 - Drank at the Millerton Inn with D. Hadn't had this wine before since purchased with Blanco years ago. Gold, yellow color. Nose of apples, butterscotch & vanilla. Full bodied and slightly unctuous, but with bright acidity. Big & buttery & toasty, some citrus/lemon notes, butterscotch and ripe/sweet apples. Still on the oaky side, with clear notes of vanilla and brioche, but nicely offset by crisp acidity so that the wine is not overly cloying or sweet. Def not my favored style of chard, but I appreciate the wine for what it is, and it went well with our meal. Seems to be drinking currently as well as it ever will.
