Wednesday, March 20, 2024 - Disingenuous ; that's how I feel .

I love this wine and think it great . Renowned palettes, tasters, experiences , preferences far far greater than mine tell me that I am wrong. Honest , but misguided, is my assessment they say. I have compared almost all evaluations of this wine and found it to be judged inferior to several famous wines in the same vintage. For me , outside the 1st growths , which I can neither afford , nor scrounge, this is supreme. Why disingenuous ?

Well, because I should be shouting about the beauty of this wine from the rooftops , not meekly advocating " one should have a sip ".........

This is fantastic , cedar laden , pencil rich , beautifully erotic, classic Pauillac , which if you need to look up what that means defeats so many purposes....

    3/24/2024 12:39:00 PM - Two observations:

"The more I drink, the less I know" - with each additional bottle tasted, the universe of wine opens up further. There are many stars to be explored beyond the star just discovered.

"Great minds don't think alike. Great minds don't care what others think" - having been at a few tastings, it is always a joy to see how much tastes are different. There are a few quite well-known (and praised) very good Bordeaux growths that I just don't like. I don't like. Am I wrong ? Am I right ? Irrelevant. As long as someone likes the wine, all is fine. Just not for me. And the other way it works exactly the same.

Keep on enjoying, keep on discovering. Even if it might make you know less over time....
